Robert COLQUHOUN

   EXTRACT FROM THE SOUTH BURNETT TIMES:


   A man who lived in the Kingaroy district for 63 years after migrating with his parent from Edinburgh, Scotland, died in the General Hospital early last week, November 1975.
   He was Robert (Bob) Colquhoun, 75, of Youngman Street, Kingaroy.
   The late Mr. Colquhoun arrived in Australia at the age of 12. After only being in Maryborough for a period of 9 months, he then came to Taabinga Estate where he was employed as a young cattle drover.
   After spending some time in North Queensland, cutting cane, he later conducted a cream run in the Booie district as well as a general carrying business.
   In 1928 he married Myrtle Barkle. He commenced work with Luya Julius Pty. Ltd. in 1935 a position which he held for 33 consecutive years before his retirement in 1968.
   During this period, he never was once involved in an accident.
   In his younger years, Mr. Colquhoun was a member of the Kingaroy soccer side which won the 1928 South Burnett Premiership.
   He was also a prominent tennis player winning many tournaments with his sister, Eva Jeppesen.
   Robert went to school at Loch Lomond in Scotland.
