George Allison TEMPERLEY

He was born in Newcastle on the Tyne in 1823. He emmigrated to Argentina in 1838. In 1846 he married Charlotte Knight. He began work in a warehouse of general branches, that in 1847, exported wools and fruits and imported clothes. In 1851, after Charlotte's death, he married his sister-in-law Caroline. In 1854 adquierió of hands of the Marenco brothers a field of 51 hectares limited by present the Av. Admiral Brown, Dorrego, Juncal-Lavalle and the Av. And Perón, where he constructed a beautiful house on one fifth of the land. From 1860 he participated in the construction of the temple and the school of men, and was a member of the municipal government of Zamora. In 1866 he took part with other notable people in the foundation from the Rural Society Argentina. In 1870 loteó its villa to found a new town. He offered it to donate bricks to the buyers of his land and to construct the railroad station by his account. The station was inaugurated in 1871. In 1872 next to the English colectivity he helped to construct the Anglican church of the Holy Trinity. In 1877 the central sector of its fifth original one was put up for sale, that was bought by President Nicholas Avellaneda. George Temperley passed away in 1899
